May 14 - Manchester Orchestra @ TLA, Philadelphia

and I just found an excuse to spend a weekend in my second favorite city. bring on the antics.

Between last nights show and tonight, I’m thinking a BK music scene post on Planet Verge is in order soon

I never got to go to this last night. considering the state I was in, how brutally cold out it was, and no available tickets left, I couldn’t go.

and this set list is pretty much perfection. and now I get to hear from my friends how great the show was and that Justin got over his voice problem and sung anyway and that Jesse did a moog stand, and Matt looked as cute as ever.

COOL.

Saves the Day, Motion City Soundtrack, Say Anything

I will stalk outside the Nokia Theater tomorrow night for a ticket. I don’t care what I gotta do to get in that show, but I’m going to that damn show.

I CANNOT MISS THIS.

Say Anything ft. Kenny Vasoli - Less Cute (Live at Regency Ballroom) (10-17-10)

I love when Kenny does guest vocals.

i am so intensely sad that i had to miss this tour… i’m pretty sure i’ll regret that for the rest of my life.. :-/

I forgot about this tour until last week when I realized I still haven’t gotten tickets. this blog keeps teasing me with these videos and now I’m going to kick myself in the ass if these press tickets don’t come through because Max and Kenny look like a fucking awesome team up there. also: ITS SAY ANYTHING AND MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK - a dream combo for me.

I better be able to see these guys, or I’m flipping more tables.

Rose takes photos of bands, I just sing along and dance on the sidelines.

QUICKEST CONCERT REVIEW EVER:

Mae performed with their original line up and did a lot off “Everglow” and a few “Destination:Beautiful” songs. I forgot how lovely their discography is. though I think they’re one of the least entertaining bands to watch live. nonetheless, I’m appreciative of the fact I got to see them for free for their goodbye tour.

Good Old War performed a short set for the ASCAP CMJ showcase. so naturally I hated the people in the audience. BUT! it was - as always - a sing along and dance party and I’m convinced they will blow up in the next year. every time I see them they do something different, have a different set up, and just play raw. I continue to be fascinated with their talent. so good.

Rose took wonderful photos of both bands so expect me to steal them and post them up later this week.

I remembered how much I love going to shows, but how much I hate the music industry. the end.

hello 2004

meet 2010.

last minute clash of the concerts tonight: Mae @ Gramercy Theater // Good Old War @ Canal Room. can I pull off 2 concerts in 1 night? we’ll see.
