Disappointed Brand New Fans

We’re only the crowd who made you. No big deal or anything…” is a reaction many Brand New ”fans” had last night in Long Island after the band’s set list consisted of The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me and Daisy.

As we all know, Brand New has incredibly dedicated fans who love the band endlessly, so they decided to leave the show early when the band decided not to play Deja Entendu. They also took it upon themselves to chant “Deja” during the opening song of Daisy. Check out screenshots from the Disappointed Brand New Fans Tumblr below after the jump.

this is so hysterical to me but also I knew this was gonna happen because Brand New is one of those bands who refuses to play any old shit so why even bother to get tix if you know they’re not gonna bother to play what you wanna hear.

hey so I saw New Found Glory and Alkaline Trio last night and here are a few thoughts:

  • boy am I that old curmudgeon who just wants to stand in the back with a cup of water without any bros moshing into me while I watch a band perform. everyone GIVE ME ROOM TO SEE THE STAGE.
  • hey Jordan, it’s cool to not jump around on stage like a maniac for 5 seconds so you can sing a one full line without losing breath or your voice. I know we all know every word and we will sing with you all night but it doesn’t mean that you can just NOT sing the entire time, ya gotta pace yourself dude. I love you but if I’m gonna pay $40 to see you perform now for over 10 years, ya gotta give a little
  • Chad, please stop talking so much. just… we know, you love your fans. but stop telling us how to enjoy the show. just play and let us have our fun. we’re a good, devoted crowd. it’ll be fine if you don’t yell at us to clap every song through
  • I still will only keep going to shows to see bands from the early ’00s, I don’t care, I love it
  • I am not that girlfriend to wrap arms around my waist. get off of me and let me rock out with space. I told the boof this rule when we started going out, and I am glad he follows it. all ya’ll other couples, gross.
  • no one should be allowed to drink at shows. you’re all the worst when you’ve got beer in your hands.
  • I find it funny and surprising that us 30 year old-ish folks are more polite at shows. instead of shoving by and standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, we now say “excuse me, so sorry, can I get through?” and use manners
  • I only know Alkaline Trio through many ex musician boyfriends. how… sad
  • I get why Alkaline Trio is so popular now. they just sing about hating themselves and what teenager doesn’t go through that phase of feeling like a fuck up so much that they wanna die? I get it you guys. I feel you.
  • Matt Skiba is quite cute! but doesn’t he have drugs and alcohol problems? eek.
  • too old to buy merch anymore. those days are gone.
