Now three bottles of wine and desserts all around and no sign of quitting. And talking about Portugal, Italy, and France. Yesss

Now I want to make Christine drool

We are a table of 6, with two bottles of red wine, baskets of multigrain bread oil and vinegar, polenta and mussels that are giving my nose an orgasm, and seasonal butternut squash tortelli that makes me super happy. And I can’t deal with the wonderul people and beautiful conversations. God damn you, New York

my friend Annie has been sent on assignment to Madrid to cover World Youth Day. they hope she becomes a nun, she hopes otherwise. watch the videos.

so, for about two years now I’ve been pushing the roomie BFF to publicize her talent as a photographer and film producer. she’s the ANTI social media person, super old school. she doesn’t even have a Flickr set up. or a web site. she JUST got a Twitter and only RTs my stuff I mention her in.

well, I just took her on this press trip to DC as my designated travel photographer, and while we were being classy broads in our hotel room, she gets an email that one of her photos of Baby Cakes (super delish vegan bakery) was published in… FOOD & WINE magazine!

the girl who doesn’t even had web presence who still prints out 5x7 photos for scrapbooks IS IN FOOD & WINE!

and since she probably won’t care to promote herself, I’m doing it for her. everyone go congratulate her!

Cheers to Sean! #Gatorade #wine (Taken with instagram)

YES! he is awake, he is recovering, and is hanging again!

sending a virtual chin, chin to my buddy Sean in San Fran - I wish I was there!

(via cognitivesurplus-deactivated201)

It’s still really difficult to walk around this city and think about him. I passed all of his neighborhoods these past few days and memories flooded my mind. As much as I’ve been able to get up and go again with my days, I’m still worrying and hoping for the best.

$25,000 in less than 3 days is amazing. I can’t wait for him to get back to Brooklyn so we can joke about me never giving him those karate classes.

Til tomorrow.

I haven’t been able to think or do much else since Sean’s hospitalization. I’ve been checking his fundraiser just about every hour and am overwhelmed at how many people have donated. right now, it’s the only positive thing to come out of this situation.

if you donated, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I normally hate to be a sad sack on here but this is really important to me.

My good friend and former boss at Sosauce was attacked the other night in San Francisco and is now in the hospital suffering from a collapsed lung and several other injuries. He’s in stable condition but weak and now hospital bills are getting out of control.

I’ve been hysterical since I found out the news and I’m trying to coordinate with friends to send Sean a care package. In the meantime, his friends and family are working together to raise funds for his recovery.

If you knew Sean at all, you know how great of a person he is, and how much he could use your support.

Please consider donating anything you can to help with these hospital costs. I’d love it if you could spread the word to mutual friends or even San Fran friends who have experienced a similar situation. He’s been through so much already and I just want to see him well.

“I would tell them to get off the couch and do something. We started by diving in over our head. It was stupid and ambitious, but full of passion. We were naive and made some stupid mistakes, then you learn as you go and get smarter. But it was that first act of getting off the couch and doing something that made it possible to create real impact now.”
